Meg is an Occupational Therapist with a special interest in babies and toddlers – specifically irritable infants; sleep problems, emotional engagement difficulties and fussy feeding. Her clinical practice is in Cape Town and she consults and speaks internationally too. Passionate about parenting babies, Meg seeks to assist parents to nurture their baby’s emotional world in all her areas of work:
- Meg has co-authored Baby Sense, Sleep Sense, Feeding Sense; The Baby Sense Secret, Pregnancy Sense and Weaning Sense. Her seventh book, Allergy Sense launches next year.
- Always seeking practical solutions for parenting, Meg founded the Baby Sense product brand, which she sold in 2014.
- In 2016, she launched a toddler playgroup solution called Play Sense.
Danielle completed her PhD in Biochemistry in 2010 at The University of Western Australia with Professor Peter Hartmann and the Human Lactation Research Group. The focus of her research has been centred on understanding more about the basic physiology of human lactation, to provide evidence-based knowledge to clinicians and mothers.
Danielle is a member of the Medical Research team at Medela, Switzerland since May 2012. One of her major roles is to keep abreast of the latest research into human milk and lactation, and endeavour to communicate this knowledge both internally (within Medela) and externally (medical and research community).
As Advice Manager at Old Mutual Personal Finance, Priya’s role focuses on the design, implementation and custodianship of the financial advice proposition delivered by these channels.
Priya has spent the past ten years in the financial services industry across various disciplines. Her experience includes:
- Design and proposition management of financial products and tools
- Implementation of distribution strategy
- Translation of product, regulatory and business objectives into marketing strategies, and most recently advice.
Priya is an appreciator of history, fine coffee, sport, theatre, music, travel, and sadly, reality TV.
Her current favorite life motto is PASSION IS PURPOSE.
Janice Windt is the Founder and CEO of the Working Mothers Expo. She is also a wife and mother, a lover of music, authentic conversation and long walks in the park. She loves God, her family and her work in that order.
Janice has given several televised and radio interviews on the subject of Time Management and Seasonal Purpose. She has been referenced in the Sunday Times, the Sowetan and various other publications and has been featured in Entrepreneur Magazine, Living and Loving and Essentials Magazine.
Over the past five years, Janice has met with and interviewed hundreds of working mothers from seventeen countries around the world and written extensively on work life balance. She has also designed a life changing Time Management Makeover course for working mothers, which has recently been taken online.
Dr. Alison Bentley is Medical Director at SleepMD, she has over 30 years of experience in treating patients with sleep problems – both adults and children. Dr. Bentley was previously manager of the first clinical sleep lab in private practice in South Africa, as well as Head of Research at the Wits Dial.a.Bed Sleep Laboratory.
Career highlights include being founding Chairperson of the Sleep Society of South Africa, Chairperson of Sleep Society of South Africa, Member for Africa on governing council of World Association of Sleep Medicine, and current executive committee member for the South African Society for Sleep Medicine. Dr. Bentley is also currently editor of Sleep Matters, a publication now in its 6th year that is sent to 2 000 doctors quarterly.
Letshego Zulu, health and fitness enthusiast and passionate athlete, is a qualified biokineticist whose primary aim and focus is to transform the face of health and fitness. She is the co-founder of PopUpGym which is a movement designed to show individuals, especially those that aren’t too keen on exercise, that exercise can be done anywhere and anytime. She reminds us that fitness in not about being better than someone else it’s about being better than you used to be.
As a motivational speaker Letshego has become a nationwide inspiration to women by overcoming life’s toughest challenges. Britta is a paediatrician and mom to Rachel, who has taught her more about babies then any of her degrees! She runs a practice from the Morningside Medi-clinic and is currently doing a fellowship in paediatric pulmonology. Her special interests are breastfeeding, feeding difficulties and allergies. Britta is a naturalist at heart and tries to avoid unnecessary interventions and treatment at all costs. She loves working with children!
Lulu is a pelvic health specialist Physiotherapist, yoga teacher and Mother to two little girls. After 11 years in London, she and her family moved back to Durban at the end of 2017, and are so happy to back in sunny SA! In London, Lulu specialised as a Women’s health Physio, treating women for urinary incontinence and pelvic pain. Having always had an interest in bed wetting, Lulu was delighted to have the opportunity in 2016 to train with Dawn Sandalcidi, a specialist Physio from the USA, who is considered the worldwide expert in children’s bladder and bowel re education. Since completing Dawn’s course, Lulu has been helping children in becoming dry during the day and at night, through a holistic approach in helping families navigate what can be a very stressful and emotional journey to achieving full bladder and bowel control.
Qualified Nurse and Midwife Ann Richardson, has worked in the midwifery and paediatric fields for over 30 years and has numerous certificates in child health, sensory integration, vaccinology, asthma and allergy, nutrition travel and sleep medicine. Passionate about her work, Ann runs a busy well baby clinic in Johannesburg focusing on child health, travel health, immunization, nutrition, growth and development, and specializes in the treatment of “fussy babies and toddlers”, in particular those with feeding and sleeping disorders. Ann has co-authored international bestsellers, Baby sense; Sleep Sense and is the author of the international best seller Toddler Sense.
Katherine Megaw qualified in 1995 as a registered dietitian and then studied a specialist diploma from Johns Hopkins in the USA where she qualified as a clinical paediatric dietitian.
She is passionate about helping both the medical community and the public navigate through an abundance of nutritional information and their do’s and don’ts. She then interprets this information and teaches its practical application.
Katherine currently runs a paediatric dietetic practice in Cape Town and consults via Skype both nationally and internationally. She has co-authored Feeding Sense and Weaning Sense, with Meg Faure, The Low Carb Solution for Diabetics, and has authored Real Food for Happy Healthy Children.
